A Journey To The Heart of Yoga

A 200-Hour Deep Dive & Teacher Training at The Yoga Yurt

May 2027 – February 2028 · Nine-month journey

Go deeper into yoga. Discover what unfolds.

Step into the unique space of The Yoga Yurt for a nine-month journey into the practice, philosophy and teaching of yoga.

Explore the grounding foundations of Hatha, the creative movement of Vinyasa and the devotional heart of Bhakti, deepening your relationship with yoga on and beyond the mat.

What is Journey to the Heart of Yoga?

Journey to the Heart of Yoga is an immersive nine-month training created for those who feel drawn to explore yoga beyond the physical postures, to understand its roots, experience its teachings and discover what yoga can bring into everyday life.

Perhaps you already know that you want to become a yoga teacher.
Or perhaps you feel a pull to study yoga more deeply, to develop your personal practice and to explore the connection between body, breath, mind and heart.

There is space for both.

Throughout our time together, we'll explore yoga as a living practice. We'll move, breathe, study, reflect, ask questions and learn from one another, creating a deeper understanding of yoga and how its teachings can be lived and shared.

This is more than learning how to teach a yoga class.

It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in yoga, to grow in your own understanding and to discover where your journey might lead.

Who is this training for?

You don't need to have your entire yoga journey mapped out before you begin.

This training is for people who feel ready to go beyond their usual practice and make space for a deeper exploration of yoga.

You might be:

• Ready to teach - wanting to develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to share yoga with others.

• Curious to explore - feeling drawn to yoga's philosophy, history, breathwork, meditation and spiritual traditions.

• Looking for personal growth - wanting to deepen your practice, understand yourself more fully and bring yoga's teachings into everyday life.

• Somewhere in between - not entirely sure where the journey will lead,
but feeling ready to explore.

You are welcome to arrive with questions, curiosity and an open mind. You don't need to know exactly what you'll take away from the training to begin.

If you wish to receive the 200-hour teacher training qualification, you will need to complete the full curriculum, attendance requirements and all required assessments, including teaching practice.

A Small Group, A More Personal Journey

At The Yoga Yurt, we keep our training groups intentionally small, with a maximum of 10 students.

This allows space for individual guidance, meaningful conversations, questions and reflection, so you can feel supported as you deepen your practice and grow in confidence as a yoga teacher.

The three strands of our training

The Grounding
Hatha Yoga

Stability · Awareness · Foundations

Explore the foundations of asana, alignment, breath and mindful movement. Develop a deeper understanding of the body and learn to approach practice with steadiness, curiosity and awareness.

The Flow
Vinyasa Yoga

Movement · Breath · Creativity

Explore the relationship between breath and movement, the art of sequencing and the ways in which a practice can unfold with intention. Begin to develop your own voice and confidence in guiding others.

The Heart
Bhakti Yoga

Devotion · Mantra · Connection

Discover yoga as a path of the heart through mantra, sacred sound, chanting and the teachings of Bhakti. Explore how devotion, connection and intention can deepen both personal practice and the experience of yoga.

A whole-practice approach to yoga

Over nine months, we'll explore the many dimensions of yoga,
bringing together traditional teachings, embodied practice, personal reflection
and the practical skills of teaching.

Practice & Asana

Develop your understanding of asana, alignment, modifications, movement and the principles behind a thoughtful, well-rounded yoga practice.

Breath & Pranayama

Explore the breath as a central part of yoga, learning foundational pranayama techniques and how breath can support awareness, steadiness and meditation.

Philosophy & Yoga's Roots

Study yoga's history and philosophical traditions, including Patanjali's Eight Limbs, the Yamas and Niyamas, the Bhagavad Gita and the different paths of yoga.

Meditation & the Inner Practice

Explore meditation, concentration, reflection and the quieter dimensions of practice, creating space to experience yoga beyond movement.

Mantra, Bhakti & Sacred Sound

Discover mantra, chanting, devotional practice and sacred sound, exploring the role of intention, repetition and connection.

The Subtle Body

Begin to understand traditional yogic concepts of energy, including chakras, nadis, mudras and bandhas, and how these teachings relate to the wider practice of yoga.

The Art of Teaching

Develop practical teaching skills through observation, sequencing, cueing, demonstration, teaching practice and feedback. Explore what it means to teach with compassion, presence, humility and authenticity.

Living Yoga

Reflect on how yoga's teachings can inform daily life, relationships, choices and the way we meet ourselves and others.

Meet Your Training Teachers

Meet Your Lead Trainer
Isis du Jour

I am Isis, founder of The Yoga Yurt, an experienced yoga teacher, teacher trainer and sound practitioner, with over a decade of teaching experience.

My training spans Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Prenatal Yoga, Sound Healing and SUP Yoga, and I've spent many years exploring the different ways yoga can support us, both on and off the mat.

For me, yoga is so much more than the physical practice. It's an ongoing invitation to listen, to learn, to meet ourselves honestly and to bring greater awareness into the way we live. My approach to teaching and teacher training is practical, embodied and experiential, creating space for curiosity, questions, personal discovery and a deeper understanding of yoga's traditions.

Throughout Journey to the Heart of Yoga, I'm excited to share the practices, teachings and experiences that have shaped my own relationship with yoga, alongside the wisdom and perspectives of our guest teachers.

My intention is to create a supportive space where you can deepen your practice, grow in confidence and explore what yoga means to you. My hope is that you'll leave with a stronger connection to your own practice and, if you choose to teach, a thoughtful and grounded foundation from which to share yoga with others.

Kelly Jarvis

Bhakti Yoga

I'm delighted to welcome Kelly Jarvis to Journey to the Heart of Yoga, where she will guide us into the heart of Bhakti Yoga — the path of devotion.

Kelly is a yoga teacher, yoga therapist, devotional singer and Kirtan leader. Her work brings together mantra, sacred sound, chanting and community, inviting people to explore yoga through the heart as well as the body and mind.

Kelly's own journey with Bhakti deepened through personal experiences of grief and the discovery of mantra and devotional singing. Her teaching offers an opportunity to experience these practices as a way of cultivating connection, presence and devotion.

Through Kelly's sessions, we'll explore the role of Bhakti within the wider tradition of yoga and discover how mantra, chanting and sacred sound can become part of our own practice.

You can find out more about Kelly and her work at kellyjarvis.uk.
