Rest & Restore: Restorative Yoga Teacher Training CPD (30 hours)
Learning the Art of Deep Rest
This autumn, join us at The Yoga Yurt for a 4-day Restorative Yoga Training designed to support yoga teachers, trainees and dedicated practitioners in deepening their understanding of rest, nervous system regulation, and the art of holding space.
Set in nature, this training offers a calm, embodied learning experience that blends practice, reflection, and practical skills for both
teaching and personal growth.
’Taking time out each day to relax and renew is essential to living well.’
— Judith Hanson Lasater
About the Training
This 4-day CPD is designed for yoga teachers who want to deepen their knowledge and confidence in teaching restorative yoga.
Restorative yoga is subtle, therapeutic, and profoundly healing.
This training goes beyond ‘props and poses’ to explore:
How to sequence and teach restorative sessions confidently
Nervous system regulation, trauma-informed principles and ethics
Modifications for stress, fatigue, injuries or special populations
Using props, voice and presence to hold safe, supportive space
Whether you teach public classes, privates, or wellness workshops, this CPD will leave you with practical skills, deepened awareness and renewed inspiration.
Experience and learn in The Yoga Yurt, a beautiful, nature-based space that perfectly supports quiet, embodied learning.
What to Expect?
Embodied Practice
Throughout the training, you will experience restorative yoga both as a student and as a teacher. Each day includes guided practices that allow you to fully feel the effects of rest in your own body, supporting embodied understanding and informed teaching.
Teaching Labs
You will have the opportunity to lead short restorative sequences in a supportive environment, receiving thoughtful feedback from the facilitator and peers. These sessions are designed to build confidence in cueing, pacing, holding space and responding to individual needs.
Props & Variations
Explore the art of propping in depth through hands-on workshops. Learn how to skilfully use blankets, bolsters, blocks and other supports to create safe, comfortable and deeply nourishing restorative shapes, with variations and adaptations for different bodies and needs.
Therapeutic Applications
This training offers guidance on how to safely support students experiencing stress, fatigue, overwhelm or sensitivity. You will explore considerations for common conditions and learn how to adapt restorative practices to be inclusive, trauma-aware and responsive.
Nervous System Regulation
Develop a deeper understanding of how restorative yoga supports the nervous system. Learn how rest, breath, pacing, language and environment can help calm the body, support regulation, and encourage a sense of safety and ease.
Integration & Sequencing
Bring everything together by creating your own restorative offerings and sequences. You will leave with practical tools, ideas, and inspiration to confidently integrate restorative yoga into classes, workshops or your personal practice.
Who is this Training for?
This training is designed for yoga teachers, trainees and dedicated practitioners who feel drawn to the practice of restorative yoga and wish to deepen their understanding of rest, nervous system support, and conscious, compassionate teaching.
It is especially suitable for:
Qualified yoga teachers who want to confidently offer restorative yoga classes, workshops, or 1:1 sessions, or who wish to bring more therapeutic, nervous system–aware approaches into their existing teaching.
Yoga teacher trainees who are currently completing a 200-hour (or higher) training and would like to expand their understanding of restorative practice alongside their studies.
Teachers of related movement or wellbeing disciplines, such as Pilates or bodywork, who wish to integrate restorative principles and practices into their work (within the scope of their existing qualifications).
Dedicated yoga practitioners who are not teaching but wish to deepen their personal practice, explore rest as a discipline, and gain a clearer understanding of how restorative yoga supports the body and nervous system.
This training is ideal for those who:
Feel called to slow down and explore rest in a meaningful, embodied way
Are interested in trauma-aware, nervous system–informed practice
Want to learn how to hold space with sensitivity, clarity and confidence
Please note: This training is offered as a Yoga Alliance–registered Continuing Education (CPD) and personal development programme.
It does not qualify participants as yoga teachers in its own right and is intended to supplement existing teaching qualifications.
If you are unsure whether this training is suitable for you, you are warmly invited to get in touch and discuss your individual background and intentions.
